Satu masa dahulu, Siri merupakan sebuah aplikasi yang dicipta oleh sebuah syarikat, yang akhirnya diambil dan diserap masuk oleh Apple sebagai komponen utama iOS5 di iPhone 4s. Ini apa yang dikatakan di laman Apple:
